The Duke Foundation has announced $25,000 in donations to support county and community assistance efforts during the ongoing government shutdown. The contribution will help ensure that essential resources remain available to residents facing economic hardship and disruptions in public services.

With many families, workers, and seniors struggling to meet basic needs such as food, housing, and healthcare, this donation will be directed toward local programs that provide direct relief. The funds will help sustain food pantries, and outreach initiatives dedicated to supporting those most affected during this uncertain period.

At a time when so many of our neighbors are feeling the impact of reduced government operations, it’s vital that we come together to fill the gaps,” said Rayce Robinson, President of the Duke Foundation. “Our goal is to ensure that basic needs continue to be met and that no one in our community is left behind.”

The funds will be administered in collaboration with existing county assistance programs to ensure maximum reach and efficiency.

The Paul G. Duke Foundation continues its mission of strengthening communities through partnership, compassion, and targeted impact—especially in times of need.

The Paul G. Duke Foundation, a Supporting Foundation of The Columbus Foundation, was established in 1983 by Paul G. Duke, a Miami County businessman and philanthropist, and has paid more than $29 million in grants to strengthen and improve the community. Mr. Duke’s philanthropic activities have been continued by his daughter, Patricia Duke Robinson, an active community volunteer and advocate for the residents of Miami County.

Mrs. Robinson has entrusted stewardship of the foundation to dedicated leaders from the Miami County community, who are committed to building on the foundation’s decades of strategic grantmaking and investment in the region.

The Duke Foundation’s Board of Trustees is: Rayce T. Robinson; Alandra B. Buerger; Linda A. Daniel; Bart E. Denlinger; William M. Harrelson, II, Esq.; Deborah Miller; and Wade Westfall. Patricia Duke Robinson serves as President Emeritus.
